FOR FRANCIS BRIAN O`MARA

INTRODUCTION

I was born in Leicester on 3rd July 1972. When I was young I was lucky enough to have a father who used to buy us all of the British comics. Of all the characters that I used to read about, my favourite was Doomlord.

A few months ago, while looking at the Eagle comics on E-Bay, I saw my favourite character, Doomlord, on several of the covers. Out of curiosity I typed “Doomlord” into a search engine to see if there was any information on him. I was surprised by how much there was. One site had a detailed guide to Doomlord and it reminded me that the story had finished suddenly. I was immediately taken by the idea to try and write a new Doomlord story.

Despite having read through the excellent guide to help me, I realised that writing a new story would be problematic. Fifteen years had elapsed since the last Doomlord strip, Doomlord was dead and his son, Enok had become a vampire, uncertain whether to protect or feed off mankind. Thankfully, there was a way to resurrect Doomlord and address Enok`s problems that would be faithful to Mr. Grant and Mr. Wagner’s wonderful story and also to introduce Doomlord to new readers.

If you decide to read the story, I hope that you enjoy it.
