What is 2000 AD?
2000 AD is
one of the UK's longest running and most popular comics featuring, among many
others, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper and Strontium Dog as part of its roster of
creations. 2000 AD has been responsible for the launch of many of the UK comic's
scenes greatest names. Grant Morrison, Brian Bolland, Peter Milligan, ana Moore
and many other comic greats made their name in 2000 AD before conquering the American
market.
Why 2000 AD
Review?
As said, it's well
known in comics circles that some of the best British writers and artists get
their first break in 2000 AD. And many of these creators have gone on to fairly
huge careers. So for a comic that started so many, you'd expect a number of up-to-date,
content filled websites dedicated to 2000 AD.
Alas - that's not
the case.
So this site was
started to fill that gap in a way that the official site, no matter how well produced
it is, cannot. The aims of 2000 AD Review are:
- To provide weekly, up-to-date reviews of 2000 AD - broken down into a story-by-story
basis, and try to offer some constructive criticism of the magazine.
- Within these reviews 2000 AD Review will offer short synopses. As 2000 AD
is often comprised of strips which start at different times, newcomers can visit
the site and get a complete run-down of any parts they have missed.
- We'll provide news and features of all 2000 AD related happenings. Hopefully,
we'll attempt to get some exclusive creator interviews (assuming they're not too
peeved about any of the reviews)
- To constantly review the look and feel of the site and ABOVE ALL try
not to fall behind in the 2000 AD reviews and news - as too many sites do...
